The Acres Spar Takes Delivery of Standby Generator
Earlier this week The Acres Spar in Port Elizabeth took delivery of its new INMESOL IV-415 Volvo Penta Generator.
The generator was built to a custom specification, this included a larger fuel tank as well a DSE8620 controller to synchronise with the utility. This allows the generator to synchronise and take load before load shedding starts and then synchronise and hand back to the utility after load shedding.
Being able to synchronise with the utility prevents total loss of power before the generator is able to start and take load as well as minimising damage to sensitive electronic equipment when handing power back to the utility as there is no “hard” handover.
Bay Electrical are installing the backup electrical system. The company specialises in commercial, industrial and hazardous installations.
Nick Thompson and his team from LFR performed a fantastic job in delivering and lifting the generator into place.
